Last month, the Council on Global Competition and Innovation – CGCI team traveled to the UK—connecting with investors, policymakers, and innovators committed to strengthening allied leadership in deep tech and national security. We’re grateful to our partners across the Atlantic and back home who continue to lean in to prioritizing the Global Competition and Innovation (GCI) dialogue.
As we turn the corner into August, the global innovation landscape continues to accelerate—fueled by geopolitical realignment, technological breakthroughs, and the urgent need for industrial modernization. At CGCI, our mission has never felt more urgent: to ensure that capital and policy move in tandem to advance U.S. and allied technological and economic leadership.
On our LinkedIn page, we recently featured ways in which private capital is reshaping frontier sectors—from Amazon’s $54B data infrastructure expansion in the U.K. to Goldman Sachs’ evolving AI strategy and PwC’s findings on supply chain-focused M&A. The message is clear: the next wave of national competitiveness will be won through infrastructure, intelligence, and intentionality.
We’re proud to be building the connective tissue between markets and mission—across eight critical sectors and dozens of public-private initiatives. This includes championing policy and capital mechanisms that enable the next wave of defense-aligned innovation.
Thank you for being part of this movement.
Warmly,
Christina Alfonso
Executive Director, Council on Global Competition and Innovation
